INDIAN HEALTH CARE QUALITY FORUM (IHCQF)
The advent of “Indian Health Care Quality Forum” has been preceded by the inception of Astron Hospital and Health Care Consultants Pvt. Ltd. IHCQF is a not-for-profit organization in non-government sector promoted by some of the leading luminaries in the field of quality initiatives in India.
The forum strives to serve as a platform for bringing together professionals having distinct inclination towards promoting the concept of quality in healthcare while allowing inspiration and adapting features from industries worldwide.
Major objectives of IHCQF are
- Work in the field of Healthcare by improving the quality of Indian Health Care through Advocacy and development consensus on national priorities and goals for performances improvement, facilitate in the building of national consensus on standard for measuring and publicly reporting on performance, and promoting the attainment of quality initiatives through training and outreach programmes.
- To work towards social, cultural medical financial physical and intellectual improvement
- To promote research, action and education into people’s participation in developmental processes.
- To organise seminars, workshops, conferences, exchange visits, study tours etc, on Participatory Research and people’s education in different sectors of development.
The forum, in its first major venture, has organized an International Conclave on 23rd and 24th February 2007. The Conclave “Accreditation: A Key to Continuous Quality Improvement” was being organized in association with Joint Commission International USA and Quality Council of India.

Further working towards its objectives, IHCQF has formed a Delhi Circle of IHCQF. This circle comprises of hospital and healthcare professional in Delhi and NCR, who are working towards quality. This circle meets third Thursday of every month at a pre-decided venue and discuss on a topic related to healthcare quality. In its further ventures, IHCQF has planned for following activities
- Organising of National Health Care Quality Conference at Ahmedabad in November, 2007
- Establishing IHCQF quality circles in other major cities of India
- Organising of 2nd International Quality Conclave in April, 2008
